Julie’s Apple Crumb Pie

- Nut Crust

Mix butter and brown sugar until well combined. Add remaining ingredients and mix until crumbly. Press mixture along sides and bottom of a 9 inch pie plate which has been lightly sprayed with Pam. Set aside while preparing apple pie ingredients.
- Apple Pie

Mix ½ cup sugar with cinnamon in small bowl. Mix sugar and white flour in separate bowl. Cut in butter in flour and sugar mixture. Pare apples and slice. Arrange half of the apples in nut crust. Sprinkle half of the sugar and cinnamon mixture over apples. Arrange remaining apples on top (should be very tall). Sprinkle with the remaining sugar and cinnamon mixture. Top the apples with the sugar and flour mixture. Bake at 45 degrees for 10 minutes, then decrease oven temperature to 350 degrees and bake for an additional 45 minutes. Serve warm with vanilla or cinnamon ice cream (I loved Cinnamoo Ice Cream from Maggie Moo’s with this pie. So sad that Maggie Moo’s is no more!)
