Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Lightly butter a 4 quart Pyrex oblong pan (15x10 1/2x 2 inches).

  2. Brownie Batter
  3. Melt chocolate and butter in top of double boiler or in microwave. If melting in microwave, make sure to stir every 30 seconds to prevent chocolate from burning. Cool melted chocolate-butter mixture for 5 – 10 minutes. Put sugar in large mixing bowl. Add chocolate-butter mixture and beat until well combined. Add eggs, one at a time, blending well after each egg. Add vanilla. Scrape bowl and blend for 30 seconds. Add flour and fold in by hand. Set brownie mixture aside.

  4. Cheesecake Batter
  5. Place all ingredients in medium mixing bowl. Beat until well combined.

  6. Assembly
  7. Spread 2/3 of brownie batter in prepared pan. Drop by spoonful, mounds of the cream cheese mixture to make about 5 rows of four mounds across. Drop remaining brownie batter next to cream cheese mounds, but not on top of the mounds. Run a chopstick or end of a skinny spoon back and for the length of the pan, making parallel lines about 1 ½ inches apart. Then make similar lines in the other direction of the pan. Shake the pan gently back and forth to level the batter.

  8. Sprinkle the chocolate chips over top of batter.

  9. Bake for 45 – 50 minutes.

  10. Cool completely. Frost with Fudge Frosting.
