Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F. Lightly butter a 4-quart oblong pan (15 × 10½ × 2 inches).

  2. Melt chocolate and butter together (double boiler or microwave, stirring every 30 seconds). Cool 5–10 minutes. Add sugar and mix well. Add eggs one at a time, beating after each. Add vanilla. Fold in flour by hand. Set aside.

  3. In a separate bowl, beat all cheesecake ingredients until smooth.

  4. Spread ⅔ of the brownie batter into the pan. Drop spoonfuls of cheesecake batter evenly over the surface. Drop remaining brownie batter between cheesecake mounds (not directly on top).

  5. Using the handle of a wooden spoon or chopstick, drag lines through the batter lengthwise, then crosswise, to create a marble pattern. Gently shake pan to level batter. Sprinkle chocolate chips on top.

  6. Bake 45–50 minutes, until set.
