Chocolate O’s
Instructions
- Brownies

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Lightly grease an 8-inch square pan with butter.

Melt the chocolate and butter in double boiler and in stages in microwave. Place the sugar in a medium-size mixing bowl and pour in the chocolate mixture. Using an electric mixer on medium speed, mix until blended. Scrape the bowl with a rubber spatula. Add the vanilla. With the mixer on medium-low speed, add the eggs one at a time, blending after each egg addition. Scrape the bowl with spatula and blend for 30 more seconds until velvety.

Add the flour on low speed and mix for 20 seconds; finish the mixing by hand. Stir in ½ cups nuts if using.

Spread the batter in prepared pan and sprinkle remaining nuts on top. Bake for 25-30 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool to room temperature.
- Frosting

Melt the chocolate. Pour the evaporated milk in a blender, add sugar and melted chocolate. Blend on medium-low speed until frosting thickens, about 45 seconds. Using a frosting spatula, spread the frosting evenly over the surface of the brownies. Allow to sit for 1 hour before cutting.
