Homemade Corn Tortillas
Instructions
-
Place corn masa flour in bowl, add water, and blend thoroughly with clean hands for about 5 minutes to make a dough. Adjust water if needed.
-
Divide dough into about 18 balls, about 1 ounce each, cover to prevent drying out. Line a tortilla press with plastic wrap and press until tortilla is about 5 inches in diameter. Heat skillet on medium-high heat. Cook each tortilla about 30 seconds per side, turning the tortilla 3 times. Keep warm and serve.

I was taught how to make these in Guatemala. They do not use a tortilla press, but shape the tortillas with their hands. They thought it was very funny that I used a tortilla press!
