Best Buttermilk Biscuit Recipe

Mix together dry ingredients.

Cut in butter until crumbly mixture using pastry blender or your hands.

Lightly stir in cold buttermilk until forms a dough.

Place on flour covered board and form into a rectangle. Fold the rectangle in thirds. Turn dough a half turn, gather any crumbs, and flatten back into a rectangle. Repeat twice more, folding and pressing the dough a total of three times.

If you have time, refrigerate the dough for 30 minutes or more.

Roll out the dough in a rectangle about ½ inch thick. Cut into biscuits, makes a dozen. Place biscuits on parchment lined baking sheet, brush tops with buttermilk and bake at 400 degrees F for 15-16 minutes.
