Angel Biscuits
Instructions

Dissolve yeast in tepid water with teaspoon of sugar.

Combine flour, 4 tbsp. sugar, baking powder, soda and salt.

Cut in butter, then add buttermilk with yeast mixture. Mix thoroughly, then knead a few minutes on floured surface until smooth.

Put in covered bowl and let stand 1 hour (doesn’t have to be quite that long) or until doubled in bulk. Punch down dough and roll out about ½ inch thick.

Cut into biscuits with a floured 1 ½ inch cookie cutter. Place on ungreased cookie sheet.

Bake at 400 degrees for 10 – 12 minutes or until light brown.
